According to comScore, online retail sales grew by 13 percent in the 3rd quarter this year compared to that same quarter in 2010. That makes it the eighth consecutive quarter of year-on-year growth. It is clear to see why businesses must have a strong website available for customers and for that site to be found on major search engines.The sad reality is, the web is full of invisible websites. The business mangers did not intent to have these websites hidden away. In many cases, they probably a lot of time and money designing them. Despite all the work, they overlooked one key ingredient to help them get found online - SEO.
In August of this year, 18 percent of web visitors to the websites of large retailers came from SEO, making SEO the #1 source of traffic according to RichRelevance's Online Consumer Report. Over 95 percent of web users who conduct a search online click on a link on the first page of the search results.
