A blog needs content in order to be found and indexed by the search engines. Additionally, with unique content the blog has a greater chance of being ranked high by search engines. If the blogger's aim is to make money, but is struggling to produce content, outsourcing it may be a good option. However, this may not be the case for the blogger who has little or no money.
Because of these limitations, bloggers may obtain content for their blog elsewhere. For instance, autoblogs can be activated using an automatic script to extract articles from online directories and post them on the blogger's site.
Although bloggers are able to acquire cheap content quickly through this method, it is a tactic that, according to Internet marketing experts, will ultimately tarnish the blogger's reputation. Today, the search engines identify websites with duplicate content, and will reject those websites from being indexed. Google's spokesmen have publicly stated they are cracking down on websites, which use scripts to publish high volumes of duplicate content. Some website owners have been reported to have received penalties from Google for this violation, and their websites have been blacklisted from appearing in Google's search engine results.
Thus, patience is a virtue when it comes to creating a new blog. A new blog is expected to have few articles at first, and gradually build up its content, instead of having thousands of pages within the first few days.
Why not set yourself a goal of writing good content and posting it on your blog e.g. five times a week, Monday to Friday. When you break it down it's one piece of good content a day. Over a period of time you will have lots of content and an increase in traffic.
The best practice is to regularly write high quality content in your blog. If you can afford it, outsourcing subjects or topics to obtain relevant content is the second best option. Once you have built up a volume of unique content, the results will trickle in as visitors begin to find you through the search engines. It may take several months, but the result of having a successful blog is worth it.
