Bring Traffic to Your Website

You have put up a website because you want to start selling online and cash in on working from home because that has been your dream for a long time, you sit and wait and no one shows up at your site. You have tried every seo book out there on the market and visited other help sites until you have worn out your welcome, what do you do? Getting traffic to your website really isn't that hard to do if you have some direction.
Many articles that you read will make it sound complicated and most people give up because they cannot process the technical information provided in the articles. Although it is true that when building a website and trying to get visitors to your site, you do need to choose good relevant keywords, we cannot escape this. You must find out what people are searching for and how many people a month have searched for something.
You can find this out by using Google's keyword tool, which is free to use. I will assume that you already have your site built but cannot get traffic to your site; this is what this article will focus on. No matter how pretty your website looks you will not get visitors if you do not have good content. When it comes to driving traffic to your site, content is king. It is good to use Meta tags if you prefer along with your Meta description, but this will not get you visitors.
You need; content and more content to build your authority on the web. The search engines love original web copy and a lot of it. The search engines know how long someone stays on your site and the longer they stay; it is a good sign that you have good content to keep the visitor interested. Personally; I never write less than 300 words for any web page and sometimes I shoot for at least 500 words.
I have seen good ranking sites that have 300 words and maybe even less, but it isn't really the word count that you should strive for, it is the many pages and links to your other pages that will do the job. I have seen a lot of number one spots on Google that have 250 to 300 links; these are links that are within the site - pages that are linked to others. Doing a link exchange can help your site but it is not as important as your many pages of content that you will need to bring traffic to your website.
If you should exchange links; you need to make sure that you link with other websites that have good page rank otherwise it will demote your site. The only problem with link exchange is; many people will not do that if your site is poorly ranked and in the beginning stages of your site, you will not have good rank at all. To sum it all up; write a lot of content, create 30 to 40 web pages, link those pages to each other within your site, and watch your content soar your page to the top of the search engines.
You can still sell on eBay and make good money doing it - and sell from your own website with plenty of profit's. http://www.bryantdodd.com/
